Salomon Ligthelm

Salomon Ligthelm is a self-taught filmmaker whose international upbringing across Johannesburg, Dubai, Sydney and New York informs his visceral yet meditative approach to storytelling.

Spanning narrative film, commercials and music videos, his work is rooted in human experience and expressed through a textural, experimental visual and sonic language.

Named KODAK’s 2026 Commercial & Music Video Director of the Year, his work has received recognition from Cannes Lions, D&AD, the AICP, British Arrows, YDAs and UKMVAs, alongside 15 Vimeo Staff Picks.

His films include MOEDER and ROCKET WARS, with commercial and music work for Apple, Adidas, Puma, Ford, Mercedes, Justin Bieber, The Weeknd, Little Simz, Skrillex, Young Fathers and others.
