Flora Fernández Marengo

Flora Fernández Marengo is an Argentine producer and the Founder and Managing Director of Labhouse, a leading production service company operating across Argentina, Spain, Chile and Uruguay. With more than three decades in advertising and film in Argentina, the United Kingdom and Europe, she has built Labhouse into a boutique company servicing the most important production companies and brands from North America, UK and Europe.

Her career began on Alan Parker’s feature film Evita. She later moved to London and devoted herself to advertising, producing for Academy Films, Gorgeous and Anonymous Content, among others, and collaborating with directors such as Frank Budgen and Peter Thwaites.

Fernández Marengo founded Labhouse in 2003 and has led it as Managing Director and has overseen its expansion from Buenos Aires across South America and, most recently, to Barcelona. Her most enduring creative partnerships with the acclaimed director Juan Cabral, has resulted in numerous advertising projects and, more recently, feature films.

Alongside its advertising business, Labhouse has a distinguished film and documentary track record, including the Emmy Award-winning and Oscar-nominated documentary The Betrayal (Nerakhoon), directed by Ellen Kuras, for which Fernández Marengo earned an Academy Award nomination in 2009 and an Emmy for Exceptional Merit in Nonfiction Filmmaking. The company’s slate also features the SXSW-selected fiction film M, the feature Finde, and the comedy series Cualca! In parallel, Fernández Marengo produced features including The Guard (2011), Calvary (2014) and War on Everyone (2016).

Her most recent high-profile project is the documentary The Match (El partido), directed by Juan Cabral about the 1986 Argentina–England World Cup quarter-final set against the backdrop of the Falklands War. The film was selected for the 2026 Cannes Film Festival.

Fernández Marengo and Labhouse have also produced Cabral’s fantasy drama Risa and the Wind Phone (Risa y la cabina del viento, 2025), shot in Ushuaia. The film had its world premiere at the 40th Mar del Plata International Film Festival, where it won Best Film and Best Director in the Argentine Competition before a theatrical release and a subsequent streaming run.
