Nia Andrews is a multidisciplinary creative whose career spans music, film and visual storytelling. A UCLA graduate at nineteen, she began in Production before becoming a sought-after Treatment Writer and Concept Developer, conceiving a wide range of music video concepts in the early aughts for production companies including RSA, Little Minx, HSI and The Director’s Bureau.
Following a writing fellowship with Film Independent’s Project Involve, Nia’s career as a recording artist expanded to include touring with Kamasi Washington and Lauryn Hill, writing vocals for Kelela and Jill Scott, and contributing to Solange’s award-winning A Seat at the Table.
In 2019, she released her debut album while simultaneously serving as Video Commissioner at Concord Label Group, occupying both sides of the artist/commissioner relationship in real time. She later joined Columbia Records as Senior Producer of Video Production.
Her fluency across these often-juxtaposed perspectives informs a deep commitment to original visual storytelling, championing emerging creative voices, and work that expands artistic convention.
