Medb Riordan is a BAFTA winning film and commercials producer, and co-owner and global MD/EP of Academy Films.
Starting on reception in 2008, Medb has worked through the ranks of production, alongside some of the advertising industry’s biggest director names including Jonathan Glazer, Seb Edwards, Martin DeThurah, Frederic Planchon, Kim Gehrig and Savanah Leaf, and the biggest brands and music artists in the world, including Nike, Alexander McQueen, Apple, Radiohead, Prada, Balenciaga and The Rolling Stones. In 2018 Medb became co-MD and co-owner, alongside Simon Cooper.
Most recently, Medb produced her first feature film, the A24/Film4 backed Savanah Leaf debut Earth Mama, which premiered in Sundance 2023, and opened in the US and UK theaters to rave reviews and making it onto multiple Films of the Year lists. In 2024, for Earth Mama, Medb won the coveted BAFTA for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer, alongside Savanah Leaf and fellow producer, Shirley O’Connor.
