about the speaker

Steve has been the Chief Executive of the APA in London for 25 years, leading the UK commercials production business through a period of great change, with the objective of creating the best possible business environment for APA members- to help them meet challenges and find new opportunities.

During that time the APA has created the APA Show- a showcase for its members’ work, international events in Shanghai, Beijing, Tokyo and Seoul to promote its members, events to help them find opportunity in AI and other new technology, while providing contractual and legal advice to help members steer through production challenges.

With Matt Miller and the CFPE (now EPA) Steve founded the World Producers Summit that takes place in Cannes each year.

Steve is a keen supporter of CICLOPE since attending the first edition in Buenos Aires in 2010.

Steve is a lawyer and previously worked in sport and television rights.

As the advertising content landscape becomes increasingly competitive, the ability for independent production companies to thrive — and for brands to access fresh, diverse storytelling — depends on forging new kinds of partnerships.

In a timely discussion moderated by Jillian Gibbs (APR), panelists Steve Davies (APA), Florence Jacob (Caviar Paris), and Matt Miller (AICP) will explore how direct relationships between brands and independent producers can serve as a powerful counterbalance to the attempts of monopolization, while opening doors to innovation, and authentic audience engagement.
