Lara Perrotte Boucard is a French cinematographer who began her career as a camera assistant, working on films such as Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City, Damien Chazelle’s Babylon and Romain Gavras’s Athena.
She now works across commercials, narrative projects and music videos, including GENER8ION feat. Yung Lean’s Storm, as well as Mylène Farmer’s Des Lols et des Quoi, directed by Thierry and Didier Poiraud.
She has also worked as a second-unit director of photography on narrative productions, including Romain Gavras’s feature film Sacrifice and the historical series Les Sentinelles for Canal+.

Directed by Romain Gavras, the two-part stunning music video takes place in a boys’ school with no adults in sight, where power belongs to whoever can command the room, as a class portrait gives way to Damien Jalet’s impeccable choreography, and the students begin to move as one.
Through scenes and back stories from Yung Lean’s STORM I and STORM II, cinematographer Lara Perrotte Boucard, will take us inside that visual transformation. Interviewed by Marlene Sørensen (Harper’s Bazaar), Lara will discuss how framing, light and camera movement establish the school’s hierarchy, then turn a group of individual performers into an image that feels at once forceful, vulnerable and hypnotic.
