Karen Egawa is a Tokyo-based producer at Mr+Positive, working across branded content, music videos, commercials and photography. Since joining Mr+ in 2022, she has produced projects in seven countries throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Her recent work includes the acclaimed GO Mongolia tourism campaign, recognized by CICLOPE Asia Pacific, 1.4, Adfest, the Content Marketing Awards and the Brand Film Awards.
Karen brings a distinctive energy to every production, combining meticulous organization with a naturally buoyant personality. She is highly regarded by local crews wherever she works, and equally appreciated by clients and colleagues worldwide.

At first glance, Go Mongolia looked like a tourism campaign. It wasn’t. The brief was far more ambitious: to create a film that would help Mongolians rediscover pride in their own country—not by showing them places they had never seen, but by helping them see familiar places with fresh eyes.
This session will explore how great filmmaking craft goes beyond aesthetics. At a time when technology makes it easier than ever for a single creator to work remotely and independently, Go Mongolia reminded us that understanding a culture still begins by being there—working alongside the people who know it best.
