about the speaker

Guido Heffels co-founded the Berlin based advertising agency Heimat  in 1999, where he was responsible for creative output until passing the baton to the next generation in 2020. The agency served clients such as Audi, Opel, the FDP (liberal political party), Swisscom, Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken, Consors and Henkel. Heimat became part of the TBWA collective in 2024 and now operates under the name HeimatTBWA\. However, Guido continues to be responsible for the creative communication of the European DIY and Home Improvement store chain HORNBACH. For around 25 years now. Over the years, this has resulted in work that has attracted worldwide attention, such as the collaboration with Chinese activist Ai Weiwei or Blixa Bargeld, frontman of the avant-garde band Einstürzende Neubauten

In addition to a collection of trophies from the One Show, ADC Annual Awards, Epica, LIAs, Eurobest, and Cannes Lions that fills a scrap metal container, the highlight was certainly the Cannes Grand Prix Film Craft in 2024.

In 2008, the LEAD Academy awarded him the title of Creative Leader. Over the years, the agency has been named “Newcomer Agency of the Year” (2001) and “Horizont – People of the Year” (2009), Guido is Part of the Advertising Hall of Fame on Germany. This year, the Art Directors Club for Germany awarded him and his wife Kerstin the Lifetime Achievement Award. Kerstin has been working as a producer with Guido for around 20 years.

Guido has even won the Charity Cup for the Alexander Zverev Foundation twice at his tennis club.
