Joe Staples

Joe Staples is the VP of Creative at Coinbase, where he oversees advertising, design, and partnerships. Prior to joining Coinbase, Joe was a Partner and Chief Creative Officer at Mother Industries US, overseeing their Los Angeles and New York offices. At Wieden+Kennedy, he ran the Portland headquarters and led global work for brands including Nike, P&G, Chrysler, and Old Spice. His work on Chrysler’s Born of Fire earned him an Emmy and the keys to the city of Detroit.

A dedicated mentor, Joe has taught ideas and problem-solving at the experimental advertising school WK12. He also teaches Brazilian jiu-jitsu at Meraki Academy in Los Angeles, where he holds a black belt. He lives in West Los Angeles with his wife, Jessica, his son, Sonny, and their dog, Tilly.
