This year, the CICLOPE Awards ceremony opened in dramatic style.

On 9 October, a packed audience at Berlin’s UdK Konzertsaal had the chance to watch the premier of “A.I.Pocalypse, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Prompt” — a short film produced by The Youth Company, directed by Bueno, and created exclusively for CICLOPE Festival 2025.

In the short, a director crashes a secret bunker where the last human proponents of craft are hiding, after AI has taken over all creative work. As they face the absurdity of their new reality, the film humorously explores the collective fears about the changing landscape of the industry and creativity – all shot on 16mm and made by humans.

The film marked a milestone in CICLOPE’s history, as it was the first time a live-action production was made to open the Awards ceremony that honors the best craft from around the world, and the people behind the work.

A huge thank you to everyone at The Youth Company and the entire production team for their dedication and hard work in bringing this project to life.
