about the jury
Philipp Ramhofer is the founder and CEO of BWGTBLD, a Berlin-based film production company that started in his childhood bedroom and has since grown into an internationally recognized force in filmmaking and advertising. Before stepping behind the camera, he spent years as a pro snowboarder, traveling the world and filming video parts. This experience shaped his eye for storytelling and his instinct for capturing movement and emotion.
What started as a hobby in 2012 became BWGTBLD, headquartered in the legendary Kling Klang Studio, home of Kraftwerk, tucked into Düsseldorf’s red-light district. In 2015, he moved the company to Berlin, where it quickly established itself as one of Europe’s top production companies, collaborating with some of the industry’s most ambitious brands, artists, and filmmakers.
BWGTBLD’s portfolio spans award-winning commercial work, long-format pieces that have premiered at Sundance, SXSW, TIFF and SF MOMA, and projects that blur the lines between film, music, and art. The company is deeply committed to developing emerging talent alongside A-league directors, constantly pushing the boundaries of storytelling. Over the past decade, BWGTBLD has collected industry accolades – including a Grammy nomination for Best Music Video in 2024 for Troye Sivan’s Rush – while consistently delivering films that inspire and create real-world impact.
Beyond filmmaking, Philipp’s passion extends to designing spaces and curating artistic experiences. His interest in architecture, design, and the art world naturally blends into BWGTBLD’s DNA, influencing the projects they take on and how they shape their own creative environments. His approach is equal parts strategist and storyteller, known for his ability to connect the dots, whether in business, creativity, or culture.
Today, BWGTBLD continues to push boundaries, not just in the work it creates but in how it operates, fostering an obsessive dedication to craft, deep collaboration, and a commitment to evolving, adapting, and redefining what’s next.
