Eugen Merher hails from Moldova, moving to Germany when he was 5. As a kid he had a fascination for filmmaking, finding his feet using his parents’ dv camera and shooting action flicks with his buddies.
In his 20’s he attended the prestigious Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg, cutting his teeth making short films and spec commercials. He has a love for underdog characters with a particular focus on small town America, where his recent short The Boy Who Couldn’t Feel Pain was set. This led him to a YDA win alongside winning Gold for New Talent in Directing at CICLOPE and the short film Grand Prix at Kinsale. Eugen has recently made work for clients such as Bayer, Disasters Emergency Committee, Mercedes and Deutsche Telekom. He has also directed a highly acclaimed music video for Rudimental x Charlotte Plank, which has been nominated at CICLOPE, the UKMVAs and various award shows across the industry. He is currently based in Los Angeles.
