Mal Ward is the Managing Director and one of the three founding partners of Arts & Sciences, located in West Hollywood, New York City & London. Arts & Sciences was started 13 years ago as a boutique production company that specializes in producing award winning advertising content, feature films, fine art projects, and music videos. Representing a diverse group of top directors and creators, Arts & Sciences was named a Creativity A-List Production Company for the past seven years in a row. Arts & Sciences work has been recognized by every major advertising award show – Cannes Lions, Clios, AICP Awards, D&ADs, The One Show and the Andys. Their original films in the Toronto Film Festival, New York Film Festival, Berlin Film Festival, the New Frontiers showcase at the Sundance Film FestivalSXSW, The New Yorker, and Nowness.

Mal is a producer of the indie feature His Three Daughters, starring Carrie CoonElizabeth Olsen, and Natasha Lyonne, and directed by Arts & Sciences director Azazel Jacobs. Produced under the Arts & Sciences banner, the film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2023 and sold to Netflix for worldwide distribution. Additionally, Mal was an executive producer on Azazel Jacob’s last film, French Exit, and producer of the fine artist and filmmaker Doug Aitken’s next film, Lightscape, currently in production.

Mal currently serves as Director at Large on the AICP National Board. Mal was the Chairperson for the 2022 AICP Show at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and has served on the Curatorial Committee for the Show in both 2018 and 2019. Mal was also a member of the Jury for the 2018 & 2019 CICLOPE Festival in Berlin.

Mal is a member of the Directors Guild of America and the Television Academy. In addition, he currently serves on the Board of Trustees at the Westside Waldorf School.

Mal lives in Venice, California with his family.
