Antoinette de Lisser is a force majeure or “tour de force”. She has been in, on or around the advertising and creative sector for around 30 years. Her career in media started via the media independents (media buying shops) back in the 1990s, then to Broadcast, Experiential, Advertising & Creative Agency (becoming “Legend”) Recruitment, Post Production and Production – with a network that demonstrates that.
In 2019, Antoinette identified that she was in the perfect position to bring a new wave of talent into the advertising industry and from her own, unique standpoint. A 30 years first hand, lived experience of the “lack of diversity” within the advertising and creative industry.
In 2020 all that changed. The Covid-19 pandemic and incidents, NO murders, that involved: Breona Taylor, George Floyd and countless other young, innocent, black people in the US & UK sparked a massive upsurge in interest in the BLM movement and moreover, the lack of diversity in the advertising and creative sector. Black Squares were posted. Manifesto’s and Pledges were signed and DEI experts: hired.
Today, alongside her work as Head of New Business at Progress Films, Antoinette is working as a Diversity Consultant with advertising agencies and production companies within her network: on helping the raw young talent of today meet the disruptors of Adland with a view to joining the industry and becoming the next generation of creative ideators and leaders.
