SIMONÉ BOSMANAt the age of 19 years, whilst completing her BA in Film & Media degree at UCT, Simoné found herself working as a part time production receptionist at Giant Films. On receipt of her degree, she went on to work as a Production Assistant / Co-ordinator at Peter Gird Productions in Cape Town. Today, Simoné Bosman is the Founder & Executive Producer of South Africa’s new integrated production company, Osu Creative Production.
Her passion for production and collaborating with talented creatives has been the instrumental vehicle for her growth. She was a TV Producer at leading Ad agencies such as Saatchi & Saatchi Cape Town, MetropolitanRepublic and Ogilvy and produced work that scooped a few birds, pencils and lions. During her years at agencies, Simoné learnt a great deal about the ethos of what makes great advertising. Having worked alongside top industry creatives such as Peter Khoury and Neo Mashigo, as well as renowned brands, Simoné saw the need for new eyes and ideas, particularly the talents of black film directors and photographers. Becoming a conduit for transformation in the creative industry thus opening the creative economy to be more inclusive.
Facing the realization that digital platforms is fast overhauling transitional media, Simoné believes that we are now more than ever pressurized to optimize creativity for our content generation. Every frame, and every second needs to be meticulously considered and creatively crafted. “Your ad or content piece is only relevant, until black twitter makes a meme, gif or hashtag out of it” says Simoné Bosman.
