Olivia Chalk is Chief Production Officer and MD, Grey/Town Productions Europe, based in London. Her role encompasses putting creativity, innovation and production strategy at the heart of all output for the agency’s brands.
She began her career in television drama before moving to Channel 4 to help launch E4, and then going on to produce integrated campaigns for the channel’s portfolio of brands as part of the revolutionary and award winning in-house production company. After 8 years, she moved to the agency Fallon to work on branded content and traditional advertising, working on Cadburys – A Glass and a Half Full Productions, BBC, and Sony.
Olivia joined BBH in 2009. Focused on the less traditional, and innovative multi-platform projects, she held two roles over the space of four years – as Head of Integrated Production and Deputy Head of Production. Bridging the space between brands and entertainment, her department’s output included interactive films, feature-length documentaries, globally distributed ad-funded programming, live-streamed chat shows, non-linear content series, immersive interactive events, global competitions, and cross-platform creative campaigns for clients such as Axe, Barclays, ASOS, Google, Bang & Olufsen and Vodafone.
Projects to which she’s contributed have earned accolades from British Arrows, the Webby Awards, Cannes Lions, Campaign BIG, Eurobest, Creative Circle, D&AD, Clio Awards, Thinkbox Awards and the Promax Awards.
Alongside a passion for craft, collaboration and storytelling, Olivia is part of the Grey Executive Management Team, and earlier this year took part in a panel discussion with LLB and the APA for industry newcomers, assisted with the APA Masterclass Production course, and was on the judging panel for Creative Circle in the category of Film Craft Gold.
