Odile Dicks-Mireaux joined the BBC in 1979 as an assistant and by 1982 she became a designer in her own right. It was her period work on the classic BBC TV series BLACKADDER starring Rowan Atkinson, which won her early acclaim. Other programmes with the BBC followed including Jon Amiel’s SILENT TWINS and Angela Pope’s SWEET AS YOU ARE. It was Waris Hussein’s CLOTHES IN THE WARDROBE starring Jean Moreau, Joan Plowright and Julie Walters, which received an RTS Award for Best Costume Design. Odile left the BBC in 1996 to work freelance.

For THE WOMAN IN WHITE directed by Tim Fywell, Odile received her first BAFTA TV Award nomination, which followed a year late with a win for Best Costume Design for her work on GREAT EXPECTATIONS. BAFTA and RTS Awards nominations continued for her contribution to GORMENGHAST in 2000.

In 2002, Odile designed Steven Knight’s award-winning feature film DIRTY PRETTY THINGS directed by Stephen Frears, with whom she went on to work with on Peter Morgan’s 2003 scripted, THE DEAL. In that same year she received an Emmy and an RTS Award for Stephen Poliakoff’s much revered series, THE LOST PRINCE.

2005 found her shooting in Kenya on the hugely successful feature, THE CONSTANT GARDENER with Ralph Fiennes and Rachel Weisz.

Lone Scherfig’s AN EDUCATION starring Carey Mulligan followed, which saw Odile’s work nominated for a BAFTA. Odile collaborated once more with filmmaker Lone Scherfig on ONE DAY produced by Focus Features with Anna Hathaway in the lead. Odile also designed Dustin Hoffman’s directorial debut, QUARTET starring Maggie Smith, Tom Courtenay and Michael Gambon.

In 2012 Odile was once again nominated foe BAFTA TV Award for her work on Rupert Gould’s THE HOLLOW CROWN: RICHARD II, starring Ben Wishaw and Rory Kinnear. In 2015 Odile designed a feature adaptation of JG Ballard’s HIGH RISE, produced by Jeremy Thomas and directed by Ben Wheatley with a stellar cast fronted by Tom Hiddleston.

John Crowley’s BROOKLYN starring Saoirse Ronan saw her work commended with a BAFTA Nomination for Best Costume Design.

Odile’s recent screen credits include Simon Curtis’ GOODBYE CHRISTOPHER ROBIN with Margot Robbie & Domhnall Gleeson, and DISOBEDIENCE starring Rachel McAdams and Rachel Weisz.

This year Odile received an Emmy Nomination for HBO’s highly acclaimed mini-series CHERNOBYL. Odile has just finished LAST NIGHT IN SOHO for director Edgar Wright which Working Title are producing.
