Mal Ward is the Managing Director and one of the three founding partners of Arts & Sciences, located in West Hollywood, New York City & London. Arts & Sciences was started 13 years ago as a boutique production company that specializes in producing award winning advertising content, music videos, fine art projects, and original documentaries and feature films. Representing a diverse group of top directors and creators, Arts & Sciences was named a Creativity A-List Production Company for the past six years in a row. Arts & Sciences work has been recognized by every major advertising award show – Cannes LionsCliosAICP AwardsD&ADsThe One Show and the Andys. Their original content work has been featured in the New York Film FestivalToronto Film FestivalBerlin Film Festival, the New Frontiers showcase at the Sundance Film FestivalThe New YorkerNowness and Purple Magazine. Arts & Sciences has produced work for every major global brand including GoogleApple, Facebook, Nike, AT&T, and American Express.

Before starting Arts & Sciences, Mal was the Head of Sales and Development for Epoch Films, a long established NY and LA commercial production company, for 10 years. Prior to that he was the West Coast Director’s Representative for legendary production company Propaganda Films.

Mal currently serves as a Director at Large on the AICP National Board. He served as chairperson of AICP Show: The Art & Technique of the Commercial in 2022. Mal has served on the Curatorial Committee in both 2018 and 2019 for the AICP Show at MoMA. He has judged numerous AICP Show‘s individual categories over the past 10 years including – Single Commercial Excellence, Campaign Excellence, Production, Comedy and Performance. Mal was also a member of the Jury for the 2018 & 2019 CICLOPE Festival in Berlin.

Mal is a member of the Directors Guild of America and the Television Academy. In addition, he currently serves on the Board of Trustees at the Westside Waldorf School.

Mal lives in Venice, California with his family.
