Josh Rabinowitz, EVP/Director of Music for Grey, has produced over 7500 tracks for commercials, film, albums and TV internationally. His advertising work includes some of the most high-profile initiatives to integrate compelling music with advertising, with such artists as Black Eyed Peas, Run DMC (their last known recording together), LL Cool J, Smokey Robinson, Natasha Bedingfield, Rihanna, amongst others. He’s been called a “New Music Mogul” by Fast Company; “Beethoven’s Greatest Fan” by NPR; and “The Voice” of the music-branding scene.
He’s spoken at all the major music conferences worldwide including Midem and SXSW. In 2007 he created the Grey Cannes Lions Music Seminar where he has presented Marilyn Manson, Lou Reed, Yoko Ono, Patti Smith, Tony Bennett, Courtney Love and Debbie Harry at the Palais des Festivals. He’s been an adjunct professor at NYU and The New School, and a columnist for Billboard’s “With the Brand”. Rabinowitz has been cited in The NY Times, Rolling Stone, Crain’s, Forbes, Time and The WSJ and continues to be a trombonist in NYC. He regularly appears on Bloomberg TV News as an expert on Music in Media. He’s also participated on every major advertising Awards jury including Cannes, Clios, LIA, AMP and the AICP.
