Edie Weiss is Founder and CEO of the Radke Film Group. She received her Master’s degree in Social Work in 1981 and had a successful career as a family therapist. In 1986, she chartered a new course by becoming a marketing representative for some of Canada’s most respected commercial photographers. Fascinated by the film industry, she moved into the world of commercial film in 1990, forming her first company, Radke Films, in 1994. Over the past 12 years, she has co-founded Steam Films, Soft Citizen, Film Group, Vapor Music, OPC, Common Good, Collective Agreement and, most recently, Free Society.
Edie spends much of her time nurturing relationships with clients, directors and other industry partners. Under her skilled and entrepreneurial management, the Radke Film Group has garnered dozens of international awards and has grown into one of the most successful commercial production companies in Canada.
Committed to expanding access to the film community, Edie co-founded a registered charity called POV, Presenting Our Vision, in 2008. POV provides a film training and job mentorship program for economically disadvantaged youth.
In 2009, Edie received the RBC Canadian Woman Entrepreneur Award.
