BERT HAMELINCK is the Managing Director of Caviar Group and Head of Caviar’s Film & Television department. In 2013, after building a career as a Director of Photography and producer, Bert co-founded Caviar and helped build it into the international production company it is today. Over this time, he has produced seventeen feature films and six television series.

In 2014, Bert relocated from his home country of Belgium to Los Angeles to focus his efforts on developing stateside original content. In 2015, he produced THE DIARY OF A TEENAGE GIRL, starring Bel Powley, Kristen Wiig and Alexander Skarsgård. After being purchased by Sony Pictures Classics at the Sundance film festival, DIARY had a successful awards run, taking home a win for “Best First Feature” at the Independent Spirit Awards.

Bert also produced the Belgian feature BLACK, directed by Adil el Arbi & Bilall Fallah, which won the Audience Award for “Best Film” at the 2015 Ghent International Film Festival, as well as the “Discovery Award” at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival.

Also in 2015, Bert served as a co-producer on THE BRAND NEW TESTAMENT. Directed by Jaco Van Dormeal, the film won the “Biografilm Europa Audience Award” at the 2015 Biografilm Festival. This was the second collaboration between Bert and Jaco, after 2009’s MR. NOBODY, starring Jared Leto, Diane Kruger and Sarah Polley. THE BRAND NEW TESTAMENT was selected as the Belgian nominee for the 2016 Golden Globes. Prior to this, Bert co-produced Lars Von Trier’s NYMPHOMANIAC, which Caviar cofinanced and co-produced alongside Zentropa.

Bert also produced the pan-European miniseries THE SPIRAL, which centered on an art heist orchestrated by a team of international conspirators. Among the world’s first interactive series, it was broadcast simultaneously in nine countries in September 2012 and was nominated for an International Digital Emmy.

Currently, Bert is in post-production on a feature titled SUN DOGS, directed by Jennifer Morrison, starring Michael Angarano, Melissa Benoist, Ed O’Neill, & Allison Janney. Earlier this year, he produced BETWEEN US, which was selected for the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival. It stars Ben Feldman, Olivia Thirlby, and Adam Goldberg.

Bert has many exciting feature and TV projects on the slate for 2017, and continues to look for new opportunities for Caviar to grow. When he’s not busy with the company, he enjoys cycling and spending time with his wife Eva, and his four children Ziya, Nina, Levi and Rocco.
