DIRECTION

Jury will evaluate the talent and the storytelling skills of the director, as well as the visual elements used, such as the set design, the location and the wardrobe, the shot composition, lighting, casting and remaining film elements.

CINEMATOGRAPHY

Judges will evaluate the cinematographer (Director of Photography) skills in the technique and the construction of a unique visual style, involving aspects such (as) lighting, settings, textures, among others.

VISUAL EFFECTS

The jury will evaluate the integration of the visual elements captured by a camera and those made by the use of a computer (CG).
To enter this category we inquire companies to enter the piece with a breakdown next to it (The breakdown has to be 2 minutes length max.)

ART DIRECTION

In this category the jury evaluates the artistic concept and the visual style achieved in the spot or campaign.

EDITING

The evaluation process considers the creative contribution of the editor to an idea, either via the selection of the best shot of each take, the speed provided to the film or others.

PRODUCTION DESIGN new!

The category involves the overall look of the film that illustrates the setting and visual style of the story. Includes the design of the sets and location choices, among others.

2D


The talent of the artist is evaluated in the creation of characters or elements that provide the motion sensation and have been produced in 2D.

3D


The talent of the artist is evaluated in the creation of characters or elements that provide the motion sensation and hay have been produced in 3D

CHARACTER DESIGN


Jury evaluates the originality in the creation of the animated characters, together with its expressions and/or actions.

MOTION GRAPHICS


The talent of the artist is evaluated in the creation of characters or elements that provide the motion sensation and hay have been produced in Motion Graphics.

STOP MOTION


The talent of the artist is here evaluated in the creation of characters or elements that provide the motion sensation and hay have been produced in Stop Motion technique.

ORIGINAL MUSIC


Judges will evaluate the original composition of a jingle or soundtrack applied to any advertising format. It can be made for a live action film, an animated film, a radio spot, an app or video game.

SOUND DESIGN


Judges will evaluate the creation and the artistic use of sound effects, human or computer generated voices and/or elements of music to exacerbate images. Sound could be developed for either a spot on live action, animation or any other.

ADAPTED MUSIC


Judges will evaluate the creative and intelligent use of pre-existent music, the quality of production, the originality in remixing and the musical arrangements. In the case of music that wasn’t originally composed, but is appropriate for the piece, jury will also evaluate the reproduction.

BRANDED CONTENTS


Judges will evaluate the development of the audiovisual advertising contents in any format (TV, short film, feature film, or other) assessing its general production. In this category, you must enter a trailer or a 5-minute length cut.

LOW BUDGET


Low Budget commercials made with few resources or experimental pieces are also welcomed to participate. In both cases, the production budget must be under 70 thousand USD and built for TV, Internet, mobile, and/or other broadcast channels.

NEW TALENT IN DIRECTION


The purpose of this special category is to discover and introduce new directors.
Jury will evaluate the narrative and aesthetic innovation skills of directors up to 25 years old in Live Action and Animated Films.

MUSIC VIDEO


This singular category was created to evaluate music videos in a similar way than a commercial. Judges will evaluate aspects such as direction, photography, art direction and visual effects, among others.

 

TITLES SEQUENCE new!

In this new special category, the jury will evaluate the craft skills of the participant in the creation of Titles Sequences for feature films, shortfilms, opening videos for festivals or exhibitions and games, in any existent technique. 

MOBILE APP


Platform agnostic; we’re simply looking for the most elegant apps in the market. Judges will focus on craft; the thought behind the interface, the beauty of the graphic design, photography, illustration, typography or sound design. To enter, upload a video of the app in action, and then provide a web link that includes images of the interface.
